First let me get this out of the way Vampires are not real! Further more if they were real they would not go to high school and look all pretty and shit. The sun friendly and teenage loving vampire is such a terrible twist in the whole vampire mythos. Vampires are supposed to be scary.

I am a child of the arcade. As a kid I use to ride my bike up to the local covenant store and drop ever coin into the arcade machines I had. As I got older I started hanging out at the arcades in my local mall. We had 2 arcades and fighting games just started to become the latest craze. I played them all World Heroes, Samurai Shodown, Killer Instinct, all the different Street Fighters, and of course Mortal Kombat.  (Not to mention the bad ones like Rage (Dinosaurs) and Time Killers)

The two I played the most was Street Fighters and Mortal Kombat. The Street Fighter series has managed to keep its head above water and make a pretty good product. However Mortal Kombat has not kept the same track record.  Midway released bad movies and games left and right. Not to mention all the fanatical trouble Midway has gone through causing Warner Brothers to buy the franchise.

This past week a movie preview or something like a movie preview was released on the internet that was a reimaging of the series. I must say I was very intrigued.

Then a day or two after the release of the reimaging Warner Brothers announced a Mortal Kombat game. After watching the preview I must say I am very excited. It looks like a throw back to the early days, with updated graphics.

So dear reader, what do you think? Are you read to give Mortal Kombat another go?

The author goes as far as saying “Vulcans are way cooler than Jedi or Na’vi.” Being the Trekkie that I am, I have to agree. And for the record, last year’s Star Trek movie was way better than Avatar or any of the Star Wars prequels. There, I said it.

Nerdcore rapper and voice talent MC Chris has release a Twin Peaks rap. MC Chris has been around for a while now, providing his voice for many Adult Swim shows, like Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and my favorite Sea Lab 2021, where he voiced Hesh Hepplewhite. He also has writing credit for The Brak Show, as well as the Space Ghost Coast to Coast.

Even though he does not like the term Nerdcore, when referring to his songs, it kind of fits. My all time favorite Star Wars song is by him. It is called Fett’s Vette.

Writing songs about Star Wars, Twin Peaks, and Dungeon and Dragons, does not help him shake his nerdcore label.
