It would seem someone at UAF is a hockey fan (go figure) and an aspiring film animator.
This is what they play on the scoreboard to get fans revved up. I think it works.

Neil Peart adds his touch to Hockey Night in Canada Theme
by crash on Jan.15, 2010, under Uncategorized
Legendary Rush drummer Neil Peart re-recorded The Hockey Theme – Hockey Night in Cananda’s theme song. From what I can tell, he left the basic theme the same, just added his drumming to the mix.
Neil’s version debuted Thursday night for a game featuring the Toronto Maple Leafs against the Philidelphia Flyers! (Anyone who knows me knows how much I love both Rush and the Flyers. Nice little coincidence there!)
Neil had a specical drum kit made just for this purpose. Although you can’t really tell watching the video, every NHL team’s logo is painted on the drums. This kit was used for the making and recording of the song and will now reside in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Who woulda guessed Rush would make the Hockey Hall before they made the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of fame? (That was rhetorical, bug!)
I dunno why it didn’t post the youtube video. You can see it here.
Definately worth seeing! And sorry about the snafu.

Imaginarium of Doctor Parnasus

Thank you, Bug for the heads-up about this movie. It just opened here yesterday and I loved it!
MJ, you were right. Technology finally caught up with Terry Gilliam’s mind. This is one of the best-looking films I’ve ever seen! You thought Tim Burton’s films looked good? You aint seen nothin yet!
It does start s-l-o-w-l-y, but be patient.

Yahoo has found humor!
by crash on Dec.21, 2009, under Uncategorized
So, I’m IMing (that’s Instant Messaging, for those who aren’t hip to the computer lingo) my buddy Sezduck when I notice something different. Something humorous!
Instead of the usual message “Sezduck is typing…” (which let’s you know the person you’re communicating with isn’t ignoring your latest somewhat-less-witty-than-you’d-thought-at-the-time response, he’s in the act of replying) Yahoo has gotten cheeky!
I’ve gotten messages saying, “Sezduck is typing AND chewing gum…”, “Sezduck is typing something utterly brilliant!”, “Brace yourself for another ingenious response from Sezduck…” (irony!), “SEZDUCK IS TYPING!! SEZDUCK IS TYPING!!”, and my favorite: “10000 monkeys have landed on Sezduck’s keyboard…”
My faith in technology has been restored. Although, what does it say when the wittiest part of the conversation comes from the inanimate IM engine?!

Bad Religion rarities
by crash on Nov.25, 2009, under Uncategorized
Bad Religion has been one of my favorite bands for a long time. They have that old-punk feel, yet are much more melodic than most punk bands. They have one of the most articulate front-men ever, giving their songs intelligent lyrics and strong messages.
I found all these songs on Youtube. They are B-sides, hard to find, or otherwise just plain unreleased. I wish the band would have released these songs on their regular albums – some of them are among my favorite Bad Religion songs ever!
I did have some trouble finding info on most of the songs – like which album or single they came from. So here are the songs and the limited info I could get.
Hope you enjoy!
(For best results, play loudly!)
